Privacy policy

This policy explains what information may be processed when you visit the Plain Act website, use its browser-based management tools, interact with analytics or advertising technologies, follow an external link, load embedded third-party content, or contact Plain Act.

Information this website processes

Plain Act does not currently offer an active newsletter sign-up, user account, on-site checkout, or comment system. The public site does not intentionally require visitors to submit personal information through a web account or registration flow.

If you contact Plain Act by email, the information you provide—such as your email address, name, message, and attachments—may be used to review and respond to the inquiry, maintain appropriate business records, investigate a reported error, or protect legal rights.

Browser-based management tools

Plain Act currently provides browser-based tools including the New Manager 30-Day Planner, Difficult Conversation Planner, and Delegation Brief Builder. The form values entered into these tools are used by JavaScript running in the page to generate the requested plan or brief.

The tools do not intentionally submit or store those form values on a Plain Act server, require an account, or create a Plain Act user profile. Their generated output remains in the current browser page unless you choose to copy, print, save, or otherwise transfer it yourself.

The pages that contain the tools still load the same site-level services described elsewhere in this policy, including Google Analytics. Plain Act does not configure the tool scripts to send the text you enter in the tool fields as analytics events. As with any web page, browser extensions, third-party software, device settings, or services outside Plain Act's control may behave differently.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics may process information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source, session activity, IP-derived information, and identifiers associated with analytics cookies or similar technologies.

Google may process this information on Plain Act's behalf under Google's own terms and privacy practices. Browser settings, consent controls where applicable, and Google's available opt-out mechanisms can limit some analytics processing. Blocking analytics should not prevent access to the site's public editorial content or the browser-based tool logic.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Plain Act may use Google AdSense or other Google advertising services if advertising is enabled on the site. When Google-served advertising is active, Google and participating advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, IP addresses, browser or device information, ad interaction data, and similar technologies to serve, limit, personalize where permitted, measure, and report advertising.

Advertising availability and behavior can vary by visitor location, consent status, browser settings, and Google's current product configuration. Plain Act does not state that a particular ad, cookie, or personalized-ad feature is active for every visitor.

Where consent is legally required for advertising or related storage/access technologies, the site and its advertising providers are expected to use the applicable consent mechanisms before those technologies are used for purposes that require consent.

Cookies and similar technologies

Analytics, advertising, embedded content, and third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies. These technologies can be used to remember settings, measure traffic and interactions, reduce repeated advertising, support security, or provide functionality.

You can control or delete many cookies through your browser. Restricting cookies or scripts may change analytics, advertising, or embedded-content behavior but should not prevent you from reading the core public text of the site.

Outbound links and third-party platforms

The site links to third-party websites and platforms, including book retailers, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other resources. Some pages may embed third-party content, such as YouTube videos. When you follow a link or load embedded content, that third party may receive information such as your IP address, browser details, referring page, identifiers, and interaction data, and may use its own cookies or similar technologies.

Plain Act does not control the privacy, security, availability, pricing, or content practices of third-party services. Review the relevant third party's current privacy notice before providing information, creating an account, or making a purchase.

How information is used and shared

Information may be used to operate and improve the website, understand aggregate traffic and content use, maintain security, measure advertising if enabled, respond to inquiries, investigate corrections, maintain site records, and comply with legal obligations.

Plain Act does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that support hosting, analytics, advertising, email, content delivery, or external platforms. It may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or security, investigate misuse, or respond to valid legal process.

Data retention

The three browser-based management tools do not intentionally create server-side Plain Act records of the form values you enter. Analytics and advertising data are retained according to the applicable settings and policies of Google and other service providers, subject to the controls available to Plain Act. Email correspondence may be retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain business records, resolve disputes, investigate reported errors, protect legal rights, or meet legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or objection to certain processing of personal information, and in some cases data portability or withdrawal of consent. These rights can be subject to legal limits and identity verification.

You may manage cookies in your browser and use Google's available privacy, advertising, consent, or opt-out controls. Requests concerning information held directly by a third-party platform should generally be directed to that platform.

Children

Plain Act is a management publication directed toward working and aspiring managers, not a service designed for children. The website does not intentionally offer child-directed accounts or features.
