Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links on Plain Act may be affiliate links. If a qualifying purchase is made through an affiliate link, Plain Act may receive a commission without increasing the price paid by the reader.

What an affiliate relationship means

An affiliate relationship allows a publisher to receive a commission or referral fee after a reader follows a qualifying link and completes an eligible action or purchase with a third party. The retailer or service provider controls its own price, availability, terms, returns, privacy practices, and qualification rules.

Not every external link on Plain Act is an affiliate link. A link to a retailer, YouTube, LinkedIn, a source, or another third-party page should not be assumed to generate a commission merely because it is external.

How affiliate-supported content is disclosed

Where a page or section contains affiliate-supported recommendations or links, Plain Act aims to identify that relationship in a reasonably visible place near the relevant commercial content when practical. The site-wide footer also links to this disclosure for reference.

If a specific link is not part of an affiliate arrangement, this policy does not convert that link into one.

Editorial independence

Affiliate relationships do not determine the editorial conclusion of a guide or article. Free editorial content should remain useful without requiring a purchase, and a commission opportunity is not treated as evidence that a product is better for a reader.

Plain Act's own books may be promoted on the site. Because that is a direct commercial interest rather than a neutral third-party recommendation, book pages and purchase sections are presented as commercial publishing content rather than independent product reviews.

Prices and product details can change

Third-party prices, availability, formats, shipping terms, subscription terms, and product descriptions can change after a page is published. Readers should confirm the seller's current information before purchasing or relying on a commercial detail.

No extra cost claim

When an affiliate program pays a standard referral commission without changing the customer's listed purchase price, the commission is paid by the participating merchant or platform. Plain Act does not control taxes, shipping, currency conversion, discounts, or other charges that a seller may apply.
